Wyre Forest Gallery Hire Guidance

2020 exhibition applicants

Please read these guidelines before making an application.

Design and printing of material

The costs of mounting the exhibition must be met by the hirer. We can recommend designers and printers for the production of interpretive and publicity material.

The content and design proofs for the exhibition must be approved by the Collections and Interpretation Officer prior to the panels being printed.  If the content or presentation is considered to be inappropriate for the museum then the exhibition will not be allowed to go ahead.

Insurance

Hirers will be responsible for arranging insurance for their own works. The hirer will be responsible for the security of works displayed in exhibitions.

Mounting exhibitions

Exhibitors are responsible for hanging their works under guidance from the Museum Technician

Staff at the museum will not be responsible for mounting works for sale.

The museum technician will be available to non commercial groups who are unable to mount exhibitions themselves however exhibitors must be present to assist the technician during the setup week. We suggest allowing 2 days for this.

Publicity

All exhibitions are publicised on the museum’s website and on social media. Additional publicity is the responsibly of the Exhibitors. Press releases must be approved by the Collections and Interpretation Officer prior to publication. Hirers are welcome to produce their own A1 size posters for use in A boards outside the museum and outside the gallery

Private views

Exhibitors may hire the gallery for evening a private view between 6-8pm at a cost of £100.

Sale of work

All sales must be processed through the museum’s shop. A list of works with prices must be submitted and approved by the Shop Manager 2 weeks prior to the opening date of the exhibition.

Applications for the hire of either gallery must be made using the exhibition application form and must be submitted to the Collections and Interpretation Officer before the 15th  December 2019.
