Workshop - Introduction to Wet Felting
Saturday 9 August, 10am to 12.30pm or 1.30pm to 4pm
Cost: £40
Booking available soon
Learn the ancient craft of wet felting. You will learn how to handle unspun wool; identify a selection of different fibres and the process of laying the wool correctly so that it will interlock when wet. You will produce a textured picture from soft, unspun wool - or go wild with an abstract piece!
Please bring an old towel to work on, a waterproof bag to take damp work home in and, should you wish, an apron.
Hot drink and cake included. All equipment provided.
Penny Dixon is a textile artist who has been felting and teaching workshops for over 18 years. She is a member of the International Feltmakers Association and the Heritage Crafts Association, and her work often reflects inspiration from organic forms encountered on long muddy dog walks.
