A Sense of Place
Saturday 7 November to Sunday 29 November
A Sense of Place is a collection of artworks celebrating the seascapes, landscapes, wildlife and places that inspire us all.
Artist Catherine Marshall returns to the Gallery at Bewdley Museum with a new exhibition of bold and expressive acrylic paintings. Working on both paper and canvas, Catherine is known for her striking use of colour and large-scale works designed to make a statement. Her passion for dramatic seascapes, particularly those featuring expansive skies, sits alongside a growing collection of characterful and humorous animal paintings.
Joining Catherine this year is Beverley Wicks, who exhibits at the museum as one of the resident artists based in the museum’s studio spaces. Beverley discovered a love of painting later in life and has developed a distinctive style despite having no formal artistic training since leaving school.
Working mainly in acrylics, while also exploring watercolours and sketching, Beverley is drawn to the vibrancy and versatility of the medium. Her subjects are wide-ranging, with many inspired by the coast and seaside life.
Together, Catherine and Beverley present a vibrant and uplifting exhibition that celebrates the beauty, character and spirit of the places that surround and inspire them.
