Martyn's Law - what hirers need to know

If you are planning to hold an event at Bewdley Museum, its grounds, or the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Gardens, you may need to be aware of Martyn's Law (the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025). This legislation requires certain publicly accessible venues and events with a capacity of 200 or more people to have security measures in place to help protect the public.

The Act is not yet in force, with implementation expected no earlier than April 2027, so now is the time to familiarise yourself with your potential obligations.

As Wyre Forest District Council manages Bewdley Museum, full guidance on whether the Act applies to you and how to prepare is available on their website.
