Eric Lyons

Eric is a French polisher, modern wood finisher, furniture restorer and wood turner. He has over 55 years experience in the furniture industry, specialising in traditional  and modern wood finishes. As ‘senior lecturer’, Eric led the ‘B.A. Hons’ degree course in Furniture Restoration and Conservation at the School of Furniture in Manchester, before retiring.

At Letterfrack Furniture College, in County Galway, Southern Ireland, he taught ‘Modern Finishing’ to Furniture Design students. Eric continues to practice his craft, with great enthusiasm and a ‘hands-on‘ approach. He offers both group and one-to-one tuition.
