Beautiful, Peaceful, Fruitful; Ruskin in the Wyre

2 March - 28 April

An exhibition exploring the Victorian writer and artist, John Ruskin and his connection with the Wyre Forest. The Ruskin in Wyre project is a joint collaboration between the Guild of St George and the Wyre Community Land Trust and is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

The gallery will only be open when stewards are present, please check before travelling to see this exhibition.



Orbiting the Earth

2 March - 6 May

Celebrating 50 years of the first moon landings, another opportunity to see satellite images of the local area.

On the opening day of this exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to view rock samples collected by the Apollo missions of the late 1960s and early 1970s. An expert will be on hand to answer questions.




Feathers and Fur

4 May - 2 June

An exhibition of watercolour and charcoal wildlife pieces by local artist Sarah Stokes.  Sarah lives in Bewdley and shows in a variety of galleries throughout the UK as well as in New York. She is a member of the Wolverhampton Society of Artists and Kidderminster Art Society.

Sarah will be running workshops to accompany this exhibition:

  • Watercolour Workshop, "Painting a kingfisher" 11/12th May
  • Charcoal Workshop, "Rendering wildlife in charcoal", 25th/26th May
  • Suitable for all levels.

China 'Poems and Paintings'

8 June - 7 July

An exhibition by artist Glynis Wilson of brush paintings of birds, flowers, landscapes and calligraphy in the different styles found in Chinese culture.

Following on from the first exhibition in 2016, The Friends of Bewdley Museum investigate the history of more of the shops in Load Street
